Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is the oldest continuously operating university in Ukraine (1661). Today it consists of 17 faculties and 3 colleges. The University was granted the prestigious status of “National” in 1999, was awarded the highest, fourth level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It is a main educational centre in the Western Ukraine.
The Law faculty of LNU trains qualified specialists in law under Master programmes and Specialist programmes. Graduates of law faculty work almost in all spheres of legal life in Ukraine, in state bodies, advocacy, in the bodies of judicature and prosecution.
Gaining of knowledge and skills in alternative dispute resolutions in different spheres of law by the students will facilitate efficiency of human rights protection in Ukraine, bring highly qualified specialists in alternative dispute resolutions to labor market. To the moment Master courses of Law faculty provides only certain fragmentary aspects of alternative disputes resolutions.
