Belarusian Republican Union of Lawyers is a union of citizens, founded on the principle of voluntary participation, independence, justice, transparency. The main purpose of the BRUL is coordinating efforts to facilitate the process of formation of the rule of law in Belarus and the development of a Civil society based on the rule of law, patriotism and moral values. BRUL cooperates with foreign and international governmental and non-governmental organizations, is involved in foreign and international educational, scientific and cultural projects, participates in the legislative process, organizes the development of non-court settlement of conflicts. BRUL supports annual Republican Students Legal Competition, organises lectures for legal practitioners at Belarusian universities, retrains lawyers (incl. matters of mediation).
