The Second Summer School for teachers and students in the framework of Tempus project "Training on alternative dispute resolution as an approach for ensuring of human rights" (TRADIR) took place in the V. N. Karazin University (Kharkiv), bringing together participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Poland. Second Summer School was held from 15 to 19 June 2016 based at the University of Kharkiv under the supervision of Deputy Dean for International Cooperation Dmitry Slinko.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Tatiana Kaganovskaya familiarized the participants with the history Karazin University, including the Faculty of Law in her welcoming words.
During the event a lecture on "Harmonisation of European civil procedural law" was held by the assistant of the Department of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the Vilnius University Viktor Terekhov. He characterized the particular convergence of law, in particular in form of harmonization and unification. According to the speaker, states can converge separate legal provisions as well as individual institutions or branches of law.
The program of the school includes a variety of lectures, visit to the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region and Kharkiv Commercial Court of Appeal.
June 17, 2016 was marked by the visit by the participants of the Commercial Court of Kharkiv region and Kharkiv Commercial Court of Appeal. The participants were introduced with the conditions of economic justice in the Kharkov region by the judge of the Commercial Court of Kharkov region, the judge-speaker, a member of the Board of Judges of Ukraine - Tatiana Suyarko and deputy chairman of the Kharkiv Commercial Court of Appeal - Alex Krestyaninov. Participants were able to see the courtrooms, judges and employees of the unit offices, as well as highlights of the courts - their museums. At the end of study visit participants had the opportunity to share with the judges ideas about their impressions of what they saw, leave their comments and suggestions.
